The early 1990s was a time when the consoles really began to make inroads on the computer domination on the UK gaming scene and this was amplified with the release of the original Sonic the Hedgehog on the Mega Drive. This is the time where our July 1991 Back in Time article focuses on this month. As usual, we also take a look at a selection of the best magazines from the month along with four select articles from the magazines themselves. This includes the aforementioned Sonic the Hedgehog review from Mean Machines issue 10, Exile on the Commodore 64 from Commodore Format issue 10, Shadow Dancer on the Amstrad CPC from Amstrad Action issue 70 and War Zone on the Amiga from Amiga Action issue 22.
